The Guest of Honour at the reception held at the historic Royal Selangor Golf Club was Datuk Seri Fadhlina Sidek, Minister of Education of Malaysia. The cultural programme featured a recitation in Malay and English of a poem written in the spirit of the 1956 Hungarian freedom fight by Justin Stimol, a celebrated Kadazan folk singer and cultural icon. A classical violin concert by Ádám Dankó and Hungarian culinary specialties completed the celebration.
National Day Reception
The Embassy of Hungary in Kuala Lumpur hosted a National Day Reception on 21 October to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Hungarian Revolution and Freedom Fight of 1956.
